WHO IS ROUNDER???
Well, in one sense, Rounder is just another weekend country band, made up of mostly middle aged folks who still enjoy a little pickin' now and then...
In another sense, Rounder is an ongoing musical tradition in Northern Colorado, a band that has been playing gigs in that area since the early 1980's. It's a collection of talented professional musicians who all have been playing music professionally for over 30 years in different genres and bands. A lot of players have made up Rounder over the years, each contributing their own bit, in both personality and style.
Rounder’s current lineup is:
Dean Cilli acoustic & electric guitars, vocals
Wes Melander bass & vocals
Chris Kennison pedal steel guitars, guitar & vocals
Jeff Gradalf drums
Rounder’s repertoire ranges from cowboy & western tunes through big band & western swing, from bluegrass to blues, from folk rock through modern country tunes.
There’s even a Rounder alter-ego, known as Book ‘Em, Danno!, that finds its expression in an acoustic format that features Hawaiian steel guitar and old time swing music.
An evening with Rounder is always an evening of diverse music styles, played with an irresistible dance beat. People loosen up, get acquainted with each other, and have fun. It’s like an old-fashioned house party.
People remember an evening with Rounder; they remember the comfy atmosphere, they remember the variety of great music, but most of all, they remember that they had a lot of fun dancing. And fun is what Rounder does best!
